An Industrial Millwright lays out, receives and installs machinery, mechanical equipment and other automated and robotic systems. They work in the construction, commercial, manufacturing, and industrial industries. They often work in close association with people in other trades, such as instrument mechanics, ironworkers, pipefitters and electricians.

Responsibilities

Interpret drawings and performs mathematical calculations

Use hand and power tools to operate forklifts, booms, low capacity cranes, and other equipment

Select and use materials & fasteners

Weld, braze, solder, rig & hoist

Install material handling systems installs, and commissions machinery & automated robotic systems

Install bearings, seals & packing, pipe systems & valves, fans & blowers, electric & electronic controls, pneumatic & hydraulic systems
